Sending a huge thank you to Mollymook Outrigger Canoe Club for hosting an outstanding AOCRA NSW Zone event over the weekend. Set against a stunning backdrop and blessed with glorious weather, it was made even more special by your genuine warmth and hospitality, and amazing support for our juniors.
Sincere thanks as well to all the volunteers, support crews, safety boat teams, sponsors, and everyone working behind the scenes—your efforts made the event an incredible success.
Our club was so proud to enter 6 teams at this regatta—three senior crews in the 10km short course, two junior teams, and Ellie and Scottie in the OC2 event. Every crew rose to the challenge, delivering exceptional performances and bringing home an incredible haul of 2 Gold and 3 Silver medals.
Our Masters Women’s crew of Gill, Ellie, Renay, Penny, Megan, and Phillipa delivered a sensational race, powering past strong competition to claim Gold.
Our Masters Men’s crew of Chris, Pete, Laurie, David, Geoff, and John also put in a fantastic effort to secure a well-earned Silver, with special thanks to John from Lokahi for stepping in to complete the crew.
Meanwhile, our Senior Master women’s crew of Bev, Robyn L, Michele, Danielle, Kym, and Fran showed great determination and strength in a highly competitive field.
Our junior crews were nothing short of outstanding in their 4km races. The 16 & Under boys powered their way to a Silver medal, while our 12 & Under mixed crew delivered a brilliant performance to take home Gold. A huge thank you to Chris and Dave for their ongoing dedication to training and supporting our juniors, as well as for steering them during their races.
Ellie and Scottie also impressed in the 10km OC2 event, paddling brilliantly to secure a fantastic Gold medal—an outstanding and well-deserved result.
