Fantastic Newcastle regatta – 20th January 2024

A huge thanks to the Newcastle Outrigger Canoe Club for hosting such an exciting and memorable regatta…. sharing the regatta course with coal ships, cruise ships, tug boats and sailing craft added a whole new dimension to the races!

Huge thanks to Paul, Col and Geoff D for making up our crew of 8 for the changes race, and for the great support from Serah, Ayla and Michelle.

Our crew came 17th out of the 22 crews who completed the changes course, and we came 1ST in our category of Senior Master Men’s – hooray for gold!! (even though we were the only ones in that category!)

Huge congrats to Col for his huge effort of completing the long OC1 course and coming 1ST in his division.

Great results by all in difficult conditions. Way to go Sapphire Coast Outrigger Canoe Club!
